Friends of the
Library:
The Friends are a
group of library users who appreciate libraries
and what they bring to communities for adults,
teens and children. We contribute our time and
money to support the Library and its programs.
How Do We Help? |
|
Traditionally the
Friends: |
|
- Raise funds to provide extra items not
in the library budget, as well as for
special events
- Collect, sort and sell the books and
media at the Library’s semi-annual Book
Sales
- Plan events for the library – cultural,
educational, crafts, and entertainment
- Enrich the Children’s Summer Reading
Program with shows and materials
- Provide refreshments at library events

Major past
contributions include funding: |

- The building of the Marx Local History
Room
- The restoration of the Paxinosa Inn
painting
- The conservation of the oil portrait of
Easton resident and signer of the
Declaration of Independence, George Taylor
- The conservation and framing of the Penn
Patent donated by the Knights Temp

To Do?
We're looking to add projects,such as: |

- Increasing book donations for sales
- Providing a steady citizen advocacy for
the library with local and state officials

What Can You Do? |

- Become a Member today
- Choose from several levels of membership
support
- Make an additional cash contribution
- Volunteer your time for jobs you enjoy
and/or to which you’ll bring experience and
knowledge
- Become a member of the Friends Planning
Group, which meets monthly. It’s open to any
Friend who wants to become more involved,
just come, you don’t need an invitation...
