  Meet EAPL's mascot Thesaurus Rex

You might have seen his antics on social media or around the library. Help us create cool library swag featuring Thesaurus Rex. 2021's Dino Design Contest theme is Thesaurus Rex Goes to the Library. Using this theme, create a digital or non-digital design celebrating Thesaurus Rex and the Easton Area Public Library.

Dino Design is open to all ages! The Dino Design Contest opens September 1. Final designs are due Saturday, October 16. For full contest details visit:

  Read to a Dog at the Library (Main)

Come to the Main Library and read to a certified Dog Therapy International canine! Although we encourage children to read in this program, they may also show the dog pictures from a book or simply pet them. Janet Grube, a trained professional handler, will accompany the dog. No registration required. Participation is on first-come basis.

  Picture This! (Main)

For all ages.
Submissions start September 1 and continue through November 5. Artwork will be displayed as it arrives until the end of December.

Get creative with Picture This and submit a drawing to display in the library! Drop off your artwork (2-D only) at the Youth Services desk or email it to  With your consent, your art could also be displayed on social media! All participants will be given a prize. Please pick up your artwork after the exhibition ends, or by Jan 15.

Join us for a virtual storytime! Build literacy skills by reading picture books and singing old-time favorites. Stop by the library (Main or Palmer) to pick up a themed craft to complete at home. Main Library and Palmer Branch families may join by Zoom. To register, email
  D.I.Y. Storytime (Main and Palmer, self-guided)

For ages 2-5, with an adult

Main Library – Tuesdays, 10:30-11:30am, Oct 5 and 19
Palmer Branch – Thursdays, 10:30-11:30am, Oct 7 and 21

Join us for a semi-monthly D.I.Y. (do-it-yourself) Storytime available at both the Main Library and at the Palmer Branch. Picture books will be available for you to read to your little ones, and themed crafts will help them make closer connections to the reading. As you will be leading the activity, please leave the space neat for another family. We hope that you enjoy this opportunity to connect and socialize with other families.

Please note: Activities will be the same at Main and Palmer. Adult supervision is required as this is a self-guided program designed to help promote socialization between young children and their caregiver. Masks are required for in-person children’s programs at the Main Library, and social distancing is encouraged at both locations.

  Card Club (Main)

Ages 10 through Adult at the Main Library
Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:00 – 6:30pm

Join us for a variety of games played with cards, including Pokémon and Magic the Gathering! Although we have all the cards necessary, feel free to bring your own (just check in with the teacher about using them!). The Card Club is led by a teacher from the Easton Area Middle School. 
  STEM Science Experiments (Virtual)

Ages 8-12, with assistance of an adult or guardian

Thursdays, 4:00-4:45, Oct. 14, Nov. 11, Dec. 16, Jan. 13, Feb. 10

Conduct fun experiments with common household items and expand on your knowledge of the scientific world! We will provide the kits with everything needed for the experiments – the kits can be picked up starting September 8th at either the Main Library or the Palmer Branch.   Storytime at the Palmer Branch! (Palmer)

Grab and Go Bags from the Main Library!

Stop by the Main Library for Grab and Go Bags for kids. There are new themes each week, with fun crafts to enjoy together as a family. See Youth Services for more details.
Designed for ages 2-7. Each Grab and Go Bag includes a booklist, supplies for the project, and other fun ideas!
