Book and Media Donations

What items does the Library accept?
EAPL is now accepting book donations only on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Main Library.
Because our donation collection is run by volunteers, donations cannot be accepted outside of these specified days and times.

The Palmer Branch is accepting book and media donations released within the last three years. These recent-release donations may be dropped off at the Palmer Branch during regular operating hours.

How does the Library use my donation?
“Like new” items often become part of the Library’s adult or children’s circulating collections. Other items are sold privately or at the Library’s semi-annual book sales. The two sales in 2024 netted over $16,000 for the Library.

Can I get a tax receipt?
You may request a receipt. The Library will acknowledge your donation but cannot assign a value to it. Please count the number and type of items you are donating before requesting a receipt.

Where should I take my donation?
Small quantities may be placed on the carts near the Circulation Desk at the Main Library during scheduled collection hours.

How can I volunteer to help with donations?
Sorting and packing books for book sales is an ongoing process, and volunteers are always welcome.
